Toulon moved into first place in the Top 14 with a 24-17 victory over Bayonne at Mayol.

The French champions, missing several players on international duty, were far from their best against a Bayonne side that battled hard throughout the match.

However, tries from Bryan Habana and Levan Chilachava proved to be enough for the visitors in the end, with Toulon going a point clear of Clermont and Stade Français.
