Godolphin have swooped to purchase a majority share in Dawn Approach, the ante-post favourite for next year's 2000 Guineas.

Dawn Approach, trained by Jim Bolger, secured his fourth victory in as many outings at the Coventry Stakes at Ascot last week.

He will remain in training with Bolger until the end of the campaign, with a decision on his future to be made later this year.

The Godolphin website said of Dawn Approach: "He will be aimed at the top end-of-the-season races, such as the Group One Goffs Vincent O'Brien Stakes [formerly the National Stakes] at the Curragh on September 15 and the Group One Dubai Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket on October 13, both run over seven furlongs."

Simon Crisford, the Godolphin racing manager, said: "We are delighted Dawn Approach will race for Godolphin and look forward to seeing him race at the highest level throughout his career.

"It is fantastic how well New Approach [whose son is Dawn Approach] has started his stallion career and Dawn Approach appears to have inherited many of his qualities."
