Champion Stakes next for Frankel

Frankel will not race in France after it was confirmed the Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot in October would be his next target.

Sir Henry Cecil's colt will bid to make it 14 wins from as many races on October 20 following his sparkling win at York last week.

September's Prix du Moulin was believed to be in consideration, with the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe also a potential target, but after consulting Cecil, owner Prince Khalid Abdullah has decided that Frankel will stay on home soil.

"Following discussions with Sir Henry Cecil, Prince Khalid has decided that Frankel's next race will be the Champion Stakes at Ascot on October 20," Teddy Grimthorpe, Abdullah's racing manager, told Press Association Sport.
