Cue Card impresses in Betfair Chase
Cue Card gave an impressing account for jockey Joe and trainer Colin Tizzard to claim the Betfair Chase at Haydock.
The 9-1 shot was prominent for most of the three-mile race, before pulling clear of the field after the last fence to land the first Grade One race of the new National Hunt season.
Dynaste claimed second place for David Pipe while 2012 winner Silviniaco Conti crossed the line in third for Paul Nicholls. 15/8 favourite Bobs Worth struggled with the soft ground, finishing sixth behind stablemate Long Run and Tidal Bay.
"I found it so easy, he just loves lolloping along, the pace he's got for a race like this is lovely," jockey Tizzard said. "He's got that gear which all the best horses have, they have got to be able to cruise.
"It's so nice that he's proved he can get in there, and it makes him a real Gold Cup horse."
