Rizeena wins Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot
Rizeena won the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot to return to her best form under jockey Ryan Moore and trainer Clive Brittain.
Rizeena, who won the Queen Mary Stakes at last year's meeting, missed the Irish 1,000 Guineas in May due to a nose bleed.
But the 11-2 shot bounced back in style to triumph at Royal Ascot to beat Lesstalk In Paris (15-2) and third-placed Euro Charline (16-1).
"She was the best filly last year, when she won the Queen Mary (at this meeting)," Moore said on his third winner of the week.
"It's good for her to come back, I'm delighted for everyone.
"There was no pace, it was a crawl, and it was ridiculous really. We went quicker to the start than we did for the first quarter-mile.
"She doesn't want to be in front that early, but my hand was kind of forced. It was a long way that last furlong, but she was the fastest horse in the race and she's just done enough."
