Back-rower Robbie Diack, centre Darren Cave and prop Declan Fitzpatrick have signed new deals to remain with Ulster, lightening the mood at Ravenhill following last weekend's Heineken Cup loss to Biarritz.

South African Diack, who will become eligible for Ireland duty in July, has re-signed with the club until 2014 following an impressive start to the season, while Fitzpatrick has also put pen to paper on a new four-year deal.

Cave, who won his maiden Ireland cap on their 2009 tour to North America, has inked a new deal through to 2013. Earlier in the season he made his 50th appearance for the province against Edinburgh.
