Ireland flanker Stephen Ferris has been ruled out of their forthcoming tour to New Zealand with a calf injury. The 26-year-old has been replaced in the tour squad by Leinster blindside Kevin McLaughlin. Ferris was injured as Ulster fell 42-14 to Leinster in the Heineken Cup final on May 19. Ireland will face the world champions in a three-Test series, beginning in Auckland on June 9. "Kevin McLaughlin narrowly missed out on selection for the original 29-man squad named earlier this week, but steps up into the touring party in place of Stephen Ferris, who has been ruled out due to a calf injury sustained in the Heineken Cup final," a statement read. Ireland will finalise their touring party following Tuesday's clash with the Barbarians in Gloucester. © ESPN Sports Media Ltd.
