Ireland boss Declan Kidney has confirmed his squad for the tour of New Zealand with five new faces added to the original training party.

Ireland fell to the Barbarians last night but despite their defeat, it gave Kidney the chance to run the rule over certain players' fitness. Forwards Chris Henry and Brett Wilkinson both came through the match and have been confirmed in the 30-man squad.

With doubts still surrounding whether Paul O'Connell has recovered from his injury - with the second-row facing a fitness test on Friday - Connacht's Mike McCarthy will also travel to New Zealand.

As announced on Monday, scrum-half Isaac Boss will not travel to New Zealand so Ulster's Paul Marshall has been added to the party. Mike Ross is also another injury doubt so Ronan Loughney will provide cover in that department.
