Ireland have suffered a double injury blow prior to next weekend's third Test against New Zealand, with Jamie Heaslip and Gordon D'Arcy both ruled out due to injuries.

The Leinster duo picked up knocks in the second-half of Ireland's 22-19 loss to the All Blacks in Christchurch on Saturday.

D'Arcy has been replaced in the squad by Ulster's Paddy Wallace - who will arrive in New Zealand on Tuesday - after scans revealed a calf strain.

Heaslip suffered a fractured right index finger at AMI Stadium and while he finished the 80 minutes, he will not be fit for the remaining tour match.

Ireland have opted not to call-up a replacement given the existing back-row options in their squad.

Ireland skipper Brian O'Driscoll and tight-head Mike Ross both underwent x-rays on facial injuries in the wake of their defeat, although both have been passed fit to remain with the squad.
