Ireland take on New Zealand in New Plymouth on Saturday still in search of their first win over the All Blacks.

The home side has defeated their Irish counterparts on 20 occasions since their first meeting at Lansdowne Road in November 1905. Their latest win came at Croke Park in 2008, when a blitz of tries either side of half-time inspired a comfortable 22-3 victory when Irish hopes had been high.

The closest the Irish have come to claiming a result was in 1973, when the sides played out a 10-10 draw at Lansdowne Road. Ireland's last trip to New Zealand in 2008 yielded another defeat but a battling display, the tourists going down 21-11 in Wellington.
