Flankers Sean O'Brien and Shane Jennings have agreed new three-year deals with Leinster.

The back-row duo have been joined in re-signing by lock Devin Toner, centre Fergus McFadden and prop Jack McGrath, who have all put pen to paper on two year contracts.

O'Brien has been making waves this season with some powerful Heineken Cup displays and the Ireland international waved away offers from overseas to commit to the province.

"While it was flattering to have interest from overseas, I desperately want to be part of the Leinster story for the foreseeable future," he said. "I believe there is something very special about this club and with so many talented players at our disposal - and with the management team working well - I am confident that the great achievements of recent years can be matched or even maybe surpassed."

Leinster coach Joe Schmidt added: "That both Shane and Sean have, at separate intervals, led the team in Leo Cullen's absence this season speaks volumes about the leadership roles that both assume within our panel.

"All five players have come through the Leinster academy system and it is vital for the future growth of both Leinster and Irish rugby that we retain our leading indigenous talent."
