Ulster have included injured flanker Stephen Ferris in their squad for Sunday's Heineken Cup quarter-final against Munster at Thomond Park.

The Ireland international is unlikely to feature after picking up an ankle problem in last weekend's victory over Aironi, but the management are keen to give him every chance to recover.

"Stephen would be a loss, no doubt about that, but we're still hopeful that he'll make it," Ulster boss brian McLaughlin told The Belfast Telegraph. "He's doubtful, but he isn't ruled out.

"Hopefully he will be available, but if he isn't I can assure you that we won't be going down to Limerick expecting to lose.

"We have built a good squad so we're confident in what we have now. Remember that there have been times in the past when he hasn't been available and we have done well."

Mike McComish has also been added to the squad after recovering from concussion, with the back-rower set to provide further options alongside Pedrie Wannenburg, Chris Henry, Robbie Diack and Willie Faloon.

Scotland winger Simon Danielli misses out with a hamstring injury, while lock Tim Barker remains sidelined due to a back issue.
