Bordeaux-Begles have completed the signing of Wallabies star Adam Ashley-Cooper on a two-year deal.

The transfer will see Ashley-Cooper move to the Top 14 side after the World Cup and he will bring a wealth of experience to Raphael Ibanez's team. Ashley-Cooper, who can play across the backs, has 104 caps for the Wallabies and has paid tribute to Australia in the wake of his move to France.

"I am extremely grateful for my career in Australia, and I want to thank the ARU (Australian Rugby Union) and the Waratahs for their support over the past decade," Ashley-Cooper said. "Without them, it would have been impossible for me to write this new chapter.

"I look forward to participating in the future of the club after the World Cup."

Bordeaux's president Laurent Marti was delighted with Ashley-Cooper's signing, saying: "Apart from being the great player he is, Adam Ashley-Cooper particularly impressed us with his extraordinary competitive spirit and his willingness to embrace our ambitious plans."
