Players from the Irish provinces make up the bulk of the Guinness PRO12 team with seven featuring in the chosen XV.

In the team picked by 11 journalists, two Munster players make the cut alongside three from Ulster and two from Connacht. From Munster back-rowers Cornell du Preez and Tommy O'Donnell get the nod alongside Ulster's Craig Gilroy, Rory Best and Franco van der Merwe. Connacht are also represented with Denis Buckley named at loose-head and Robbie Henshaw at outside centre.

No players from the two Italian sides are named but from Wales, the Ospreys boast three with Rhys Webb, Dan Biggar and Alun-Wyn Jones honoured. The fullback is Liam Williams from the Scarlets.

And Scotland's two sides are represented with Edinburgh's WP Nel at tight-head and Glasgow's Peter Horne and Tommy Seymour named in the backs.
