Tierney forced out of 'A' match
Dublin
March 1, 2000

Tom Tierney has pulled out of the Ireland A squad in advance of Friday's match against Italy A at Donnybrook in Dublin because of injury.

The Garryowen scrum-half failed to recover from a groin muscle strain sustained when playing for his club against Clontarf last Saturday in the AIB League.

His place in the A squad has gone to Brian O'Meara (Cork Constitution). Both Tierney and O'Meara were the scrum-halves in Ireland's World Cup squad last autumn.
