O'Cuinneagain set to answer Munster call
March 27, 2001

With injuries doubts hanging over Alan Quinlan and David Wallace Declan Kidney is set to turn to former Ireland captain Dion O'Cuinneagain to bolster the Munster squad for the Heineken Cup semi-final with Stade Français next month.

The former Ulster flanker, who has returned to Cape Town to complete his medical studies has been given permission to take time off from his studies and return to Ireland in time for the Munster warm up game against the Rest of Ireland on 13th April.

O'Cuinneagain took no part in Ulster's European campaign due to a broken bone in his wrist, and as a result Kidney was able to name him as an extra squad member after the pool stages. "I look forward to the opportunity to come back to Ireland and will do anything I can to help Munster win the European Cup. If my involvement is nothing more than just being a squad member, then I will be happy." He said on Monday.
