Wallace looking for return home
April 27, 2001

Saracens Irish prop Paul Wallace will be the latest player enticed home by the IRFU.

Following moves by Keiron Campbell and Rob Henderson in recent weeks Wallace is set to sign for Leinster after talks with their Director of Rugby Matt Williams.

Although he has another year left on his Saracens contract he is exercisinga get-out clause, and hopes that a return to the Irish fold will enhance his chances of adding to the 37 caps gained since his debut in the 1995 World Cup.

One of the main attractions of an IRFU contract will be the reduction in the number of games he has to play. "Based in Ireland, I reckon you would have more time to recover. I suppose I am looking at the bigger picture. I want to play more international rugby, and I realise it would probably be advantageous to be playing in Ireland.
