Easterby back for the Scarlets
April 27, 2001

Although he had not originally thought he would return to action until after the end of the season Simon Easterby is back in the Llanelli side against Ebbw Vale on Saturday.

The Irish test flanker snapped his achilles tendon during pre-season training and is now targeting the Irish training camp in Poland as his opportunity to re-stake his claim for a test place.

Although third in the league Saturday's trip to Vale is crucial for Llanelli as they could still lose out on a European Place next season if they were to lose both their remaining games. Stephen Jones will captain the side in the absence of Scott Quinnell while Chris Wyatt returns in the second row in place of Craig Gillies.
