ARU expect rush for Lions tickets
May 11, 2001

Tickets for the Lions 1st Test against Australia on June 30 are expected to sell out within an hour of going on sale in Australia on Saturday.

The opening clash between the World Champions and the British Isles representative team will take place at the Gabba in Brisbane with tickets available through Ticketek.

It is expected that a capacity of 37,000 and an overwhelming demand for tickets will see them snapped up quickly. Australian Rugby Union Managaing Director told the ARU's official site, "I would expect tickets to the Test to sellout within an hour of going on sale on Saturday. Sadly, there will be many disappointed people, but we are looking at providing other ways of keeping people in touch the excitement."

Tickets for the 2nd test on July 7 will go on sale June 7 with the release date for 3rd Test tickets yet to be decided.
