Australian coach Rod Macqueen has revealed has as good as picked his Test team to tackle the British Lions in June. "You would have to assume that at this stage we are very close to the side we want," Macqueen told AFP. "We meet after every Super 12 round to see where we are and we select a side every week as if we're playing a Test that week. "Changes come about through players being consistent and anyone who's in will have been thought about for a long while." Australia have a Test warm-up against New Zealand Maori in Sydney on June 9 before facing the Lions in the first Test in Brisbane on June 30. But Macqueen is unlikely to field his strongest side against the Maori. "Obviously it'll be a strong side but it won't necessarily be the side that's going to play the Lions," Macqueen said. |
