Ireland squad for Romania friendly

Ireland announced a 28-man training squad on Tuesday for next month's match against Romania, the first Irish fixture since their Six Nations campaign was suspended in April due to the foot-and-mouth crisis.

Missing from the list are Ireland's six Lions tourists, who leave for Australia at the beginning of June, and forwards Emmet Byrne and Alan Quinlan, who are both injured.

The squad will meet for training in Limerick on May 21 and 22, after which the 22-man squad for the game in Bucharest on June 2 will be announced.
