Gibbs made Whites' captain again

Scott Gibbs will captain Swansea next season for a fourth consecutive year.

The Welsh/Scottish champions have today confirmed the reappointment of Gibbs, a late call up for the recent Lions tour, as well as the appointment of prop Paul Moriarty as defensive coach.

Swansea hope that Moriarty's Rugby League experience with Wales, Widnes and Halifax will prove to be vital, as he builds on the work started by Clive Griffiths last season.

Moriarty had recent experience playing league last November for Wales during the World Cup when both he and John Devereux were called into the squad to cover for injuries.

Whites coach, John Plumtree, Said: "Scott and I have a very good relationship so we don't see why we should change things. Scott says he's happy to be captain of Swansea as long as I'm the coach and that's fine by me. It's business as usual."

Team Manager, Richard Moriarty, added: "We wanted to act quickly with Clive's imminent departure. He did a fantastic job for us last season and we believe Paul will carry on the good work".
