Irish end exile for pre-season trip

London Irish will head for the mother land before the start of their Zurich Premiership campaign on a tour of Cork in August.

The Reading-based exiles will play Munster, the club's first game in Ireland and the first against an Irish side since the game went professional six years ago.

In the squad will be new coach Brendan Venter as well as fellow South African Naka Drotske who joined Irish during the summer.

The London Irish touring party which will be based in Kinsale, home of the famous rugby sevens tournament, will consist of the full 32 man professional squad led by captain, Conor O'Shea, and team management led by rugby manager, Kieran McCarthy who is a native of Fermoy.

The squad contains nine full internationals including Justin Bishop (Ireland), Kieron Dawson (Ireland), Naka Drotske (South Africa), Eddie Halvey (Ireland), Rob Hardwick (England), Conor O'Shea (Ireland), Chris Sheasby (England), Brendan Venter (South Africa) and Steve Williams (Wales) as well as many players who have represented their countries at A and Under 21 level.

The tour will take place between August 19 and 23 with the Munster game on the 21st.
