Ward handed Ulster captaincy

Andy Ward will be the new Ulster captain replacing last tear's skipper David Humphries.

The decision was made by new Coach Alan Solomons ahead of this Friday's pre-season match against Coventry at Ravenhill.

Ward will partner by Australian newcomer David Allen in the back row and there will be debuts for former London Irish wing/scrum half Kieran Campbell at scrum half and Paddy Wallace at fly half.

Ulster team v Coventry: Niall Malone; Sheldon Coulter, Shane Stewart, Jonathan Bell, Jan Cunningham; Paddy Wallace, Kieran Campbell; Simon Best, Richie Weir, Clem Boyd; Mark Blair, Aidan Kearney, David Allen, Andy Ward (Captain), Tony McWhirter.
