Wasps look to lure Gatland
December 4, 2001

Former Ireland coach Warren Gatland has said he will take his time before deciding his next move in the rugby globe but it has not stopped London Wasps making preliminary moves to lure him.

Gatland, who relinquished his post with Ireland last Friday, told The Ties, "I have had a few calls, but I don't want to speculate at this stage and perhaps put pressure on other people," Gatland said.

"Losing the Ireland job was a big surprise for me, but I have to take the positives out of it. If there is a right time to lose your job, this is probably it, when your reputation is reasonably high. I'll weigh everything up without rushing into a rash decision. I'd enjoy the chance to work in England. The atmosphere there seems to have improved."
