Burke out to shine against O'Gara
January 4, 2002

Harlequins' Irish international fly-half Paul Burke believes he has plenty to prove when the Zurich Premiership strugglers visit Munster on Saturday.

The game will pitch Burke and Munster number 10 Ronan O'Gara into direct combat, just four weeks before Ireland launch their Lloyds TSB Six Nations Championship campaign against Wales at Lansdowne Road.

"The Irish selectors have been over twice to watch me in the last few weeks, but it will be when I come face to face with Ronan that they will really be watching," said Burke.

"I guess that I am behind both Ronan and David Humphreys at the moment - but I don't want to be considered the third man.

"I still have ambitions to play for Ireland - and the selectors have told me I am still being considered, so now it is down to me."
