Six Nations Committee look for clarity
January 9, 2002

Following the decision to condense the Six Nations Championship into a seven-week period its ruling committee are looking to bring a measure of stability to the entire northern hemisphere stadium.

The committee will meet in Dublin on Friday to plan the fixture schedule for the tournament for the next five years.

Committe chairman Allan Hosie told The Times yesterday, "We want to ensure long-term stability so that once we have put our marker down the other pieces of the jigsaw, such as the Heineken Cup, will fall into place."

The committee hopes that a fixture list covering the period to 2007 will be released early next week with the dates for every international.
