Cockbain and Llewellyn handed suspensions

Sale Sharks lock Brent Cockbain and Bristol second row Gareth Llewellyn have been given suspensions of five weeks and three weeks respectively by Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearings.

Cockbain has been given a five-week suspension after being found guilty of stamoing by an Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearing.

Cockbain, who was cited by the Match Citing Officer, Matt Bayliss, for stamping contrary to Law 10(4)(b) in the game against Worcester Warriors at Edgeley Park on Friday, February 29, 2008, pleaded guilty to the offence and was suspended for five weeks from March 4, 2008.

He can resume playing on April 9, 2008.

Llewellyn was suspended for three weeks after pleading guilty to striking.

The Bristol player was cited for striking Bath prop David Barnes during the Guinness Premiership match at Ashton Gate on March 2nd.

He is suspended from March 6th until March 27th and is free to play again on March 28th.
