Ian Whitten has agreed a new two-year contract with Exeter which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2015.

Whitten, who can play on the wing or at centre, has made 34 appearances since he switched from Ulster at the end of the 2011-12 season.

"Not only is Ian a great player, but he's been a great character ever since he arrived," Exeter head coach Rob Baxter said. "He's a very popular member of the squad for lots of reasons. Some of them are to do with what a good rugby player he is and some of them are do with the character he is."
