  • Wales skipper Ryan Jones will make his comeback from injury in the Ospreys' pre-season friendly against Gloucester on Saturday.

Jones will make his first appearance since sustaining a concussion in Wales' Test against the USA in June - an injury that would rule him out of the British & Irish Lions tour after he was selected as an injury replacement for the squad in South Africa.

  • Tom Croft was the hero for Leicester Tigers as they continued their pre-season with a 34-28 win over Magners League champions Munster at Welford Road on Friday.

The British & Irish Lion crossed in the dying seconds after Munster had fought back from 20-7 down to lead 28-27.

  • Cardiff Blues fans voted with their feet during their side's humiliating 42-9 pre-season loss to Northampton at the Cardiff City Stadium on Friday. James Downey scored the Saints' fourth try in the 71st minute, sparking an exodus of home fans.

Blues wing Leigh Halfpenny made his return to action in the game after his Lions tour was ended by a thigh injury.

  • Leeds Carnegie have signed former Leicester prop Alejandro Moreno on loan from stricken Italian side Calvisano for the season as Mike MacDonald and Fosi Pala'amo are awaiting news on Visa applications.
