Bergamasco signs for Treviso

Italy flanker Mauro Bergamasco has ended the speculation over his future by signing for Treviso.

He joins from Petraca Padova in a two year loan deal.

Elsewhere, Italian clubs have continued their trend of recruiting overseas players.

Harlequins centre Peter Mensah has signed a one year contract with Italian first Division club GR.A.N. Parma with a renewal option.

Newly promoted GR.A.N Parma have also signed New Zealender flanker Daniel Stead, formerly of Calvisano, Buenos Aires based prop Martin Poderti, a former Argentina U21, and another Harlequins' back, young fly half Johnny Boden.

Benetton Treviso have signed Tonga flanker David Edward, 29, from Bedford and fellow Bedford centre Jamie Conolly is one of L'Aquila's new recruits along with New Zealander flanker Mark De Goldi, brother of All Black Seven's player, Craig.

L'Aquila, the Italian club championship runners up, also strenghtend their ranks with Nelson Bay scrum half, Daniel Grasso and South African, Gauteng Falcons prop, Tieter Boshoff.

Former Edinburgh Reivers' lock Gregor Heyter moved to Parma along with South African stand off Heinz Pfluger from the French club Beziers.

Italian international, front rower Andrea De Carli is back home with Italian champions Rome Olimpic, after a season in Paris with Stade Francais.
