Former Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan has signed on to coach the Barbarians for their meeting with the Scarlets at Parc y Scarlets on January 31.

O'Sullivan has stepped in after original coach Kingsley Jones pulled out due to club commitments with Sale. The game will mark the official opening of the Parc y Scarlets ground, which the Scarlets have moved to since leaving Stradey Park in October.

The Baa-baas have so far announced a 16-man squad, including All Blacks Anton Oliver, Ben Blair and Marty Holah, Wallaby Dan Vickerman, Cardiff Blues pair Maama Molitika and Paul Tito and Bath's Springbok scrum-half Michael Claassens.

"We've [players from]... New Zealand, England, Ireland, Argentina, Australia, Samoa, Italy, Scotland, Spain, Tonga," Scarlets boss Stuart Gallacher told BBC Sport.

"Put those names together and it's a very exciting mix and it will be great game to watch. This is something that the whole of Welsh rugby should celebrate in and we want as many people as possible to be part of this historic and memorable event - just as we did at the closure of Stradey Park."

Barbarians squad (more to follow): Anton Oliver (Oxford and New Zealand), Dan Vickerman (Cambridge and Australia), Brian Carney (Munster and Ireland), Ben Blair (Cardiff Blues and New Zealand), Oriol Ripol (Sale Sharks and Spain), Tomas De Vedia (London Irish and Argentina), Gordon Ross (Saracens and Scotland), Michael Claassens (Bath and South Africa), Federico Pucciariello (Munster and Italy), Paul Tito (Cardiff Blues), Mosese Rauluni (Saracens & Fiji), Aaron Persico (Calvisano and Italy), Marty Holah (Ospreys and New Zealand), Maama Molitika (Cardiff Blues and Tonga), Mark Regan (Bristol and England), Gavin Quinnell (Viadana)
