Top place finishers, Tasman have demonstrated their skills as they took away Manawatu's play-off hopes with a 57-14 win on Sunday.

Manawatu had little chance at taking on Tasman, as Tasman's Marty Banks took control of the match scoring 27-points through two tries, six conversions and a penalty goal. Tasman cut loose against Manawatu scoring seven tries to two.

Although Manawatu started strong against the top team, however the pressure became too much as the side began too cough up mistakes, which provided Tasman with possession.

Scoring points within the first minutes, Tasman was quick to take control and add to their points with Billy Guyton running over for Tasman's first try. The try scoring continued throughout the match with Manawatu unable to stop the flow of points.

The bonus-point win has ended Manawatu's hopes of reaching the play-offs and has secured Tasman's top spot on the Championship table.
