Andy Ellis has shaken off a shoulder injury and will start in an unchanged Canterbury side for their ITM Cup Premiership semi-final against Auckland at AMI Stadium in Christchurch on Saturday.
Ellis dislocated a shoulder as Canterbury defeated North Harbour 38-0 in Auckland in their final round-robin match, but has been cleared to keep Crusaders teammate Willi Heinz on the reserve bench.
Dominic Bird, meanwhile, returns to the bench to boost his hopes of selection in the All Blacks' season-ending tour squad after rupturing a pectoral muscle in June.
Canterbury: Johnny McNicholl; Patrick Osborne, Adam Whitelock, Ryan Crotty, Rob Thompson; Tyler Bleyendaal, Andy Ellis; Nasi Manu, George Whitelock (captain), Luke Whitelock; Luke Katene, Joel Everson; Nepo Laulala, Ben Funnell, Joe Moody. Replacements: Seb Siataga, Paea Faanunu, Dominic Bird, Jordan Taufua, Willi Heinz, Richie Mo'unga, Jamie Verran.
