Wales lock Ian Evans could miss some or all of the Six Nations after being sent off for alleged stamping in Ospreys' Heineken Cup defeat to Leinster in Dublin.

Evans was shown the red card in the 19th minute of the game after television replays showed Leinster's Ireland lock Mike McCarthy being stamped on. Bans for stamping range from two to nine-plus weeks with 52 as a maximum.

Anything other than the minimum ban would rule him out of Wales' opening game against Italy on February 1.
