Arbizu hopes to steady the ship

Argentina will be hoping that the appointment of Lisandro Arbizu as Puma's captain for the World Cup will give the side a new focus after the problems of the past few months.
Their magnificent victory over Scotland last month has been overshadowed by a series of off-field problems. First there was the suspension of Pedro Sporleder and Mario Ledesma, then they were cleared to play in Wales, and finally last week the Argentinian Rugby Union tried to change the squad their coaches had picked for the competition.
Arbizu, who plays in France with Brive, has captained the side 25 times in the past.

Meanwhile Scotland have had more good news over their injury worries. Yesterday Gregor Townsend declared he was raring to go after his secret knee op at the beginning of the month and today Alan Tait, who twisted his ankle in the warm up game against Edinburgh, discovered that there was no lasting damage and he would be fully fit for the big clash with the Springboks on 3rd October.
