Clarke faces long layoff
August 21, 2000

Ulster's test hooker Allan Clarke could be out for nearly four months if initial diagnosis on his broken leg is confirmed later this week.

Clarke crashed to the ground after making a tackle only seven minutes into the win over Edinburgh Reivers on Friday evening, and was immediately stretchered off to hospital.

It was confirmed that he had fractured the fibula of his left leg, but he's due to return to hospital on Wednesday for a re-assessment of the injury.
