Ospreys captain Alun-Wyn Jones is proud of his young side as they near elimination from the Champions Cup but accepts he may never taste European success with the region.

After fighting back to earn a draw against Racing Metro in Swansea last weekend, Ospreys went down 18-14 in the reverse fixture on Saturday. ospreys sit third in Pool 5 and are unlikely to progress to the knockout stages.

Jones career with Ospreys has seen great domestic success - three Celtic league titles and an Anglo-Welsh Cup - but he's yet to triumph on the European stage.

"I might not get silverware but I'm proud of what we're achieving here and what we're creating," Jones said.

"Personally the frustrating thing for me is we are learning and we are growing. But at some point the learning has got to stop and we've got to convert that into results. I've been doing this for a long time no and I can take pride from it."

Jones refuses to give up on ospreys chances of progressing in the competition this season, even though they sit seven points adrift of Pool Five leaders Northampton, who scored 11 tries in a record win over Treviso on Saturday.

"It's not undoable," said the lock, "But we've got to focus on our next four games and then look at it."

Ospreys face Saints in Swansea and Treviso away in their final two pool games in January.
