The Vodacom Cup-winning Griquas dominate the 27-man squad selected to represent the Royal XV against the British & Irish Lions in Rustenberg on May 30.

The Griquas' man of the match Riaan Viljoen and fly-half Naas Olivier are two of 14 players from Kimberley to have made the squad for the clash at the Bakofeng Sports Palace in Phokeng. The Leopards have 10 representatives while the Pumas have four players in the squad. Neither the Griffons nor the Valke have a single representative in the squad.

Cheetahs No.10 Olivier is one of seven players with Super 14 experience in the group including his Griquas team mates Hanno Coetzee, Bjorn Basson, Sarel Pretorius and Bees Roux (all Cheetahs) and the Leopards' Deon van Rensburg and Rynard Landman (Lions).

Three hookers and three scrum-halves have been named with Sarel Pretorius and Jacques Coetzee the favourites to wear the No.9 jersey.

Leopards coach Chaka Willemse will take charge of the side and will be assisted by the Griquas Dawie Theron, the Pumas' Jimmy Stonehouse and the Griffons' Oersond Gorgonzola.
