Former Olympic champion Carolina Kluft has been forced to pull out of London 2012 with a hamstring injury.

The Swedish long jumper, who won heptathlon gold in 2004, suffered an injury during a competition in Kuortane, Finland.

Kluft, who intends to retire at the end of the season, has been plagued with injuries in recent seasons, having switched to long jump from heptathlon in 2008.

"There will be no Olympics for Carro," her coach Oscar Gidewall told Radio Sweden.

"It's not her shin that put a stop to it today, even if she feels it a little, she has a problem with a tender hamstring that she hasn't felt for several years."
