Daley and Waterfield fall short
Tom Daley and Pete Waterfield came up short in their bid for a medal in the Synchronised 10m Platform at the Aquatics Centre.
The duo started well and were leading after three rounds, but a mistake on the fourth dive set them back and they failed to peg back the deficit.
Daley and Waterfield produced a fine sixth and final dive, but it was only good enough for fourth place in a total of 454.65.
Chinese sensations Cao Yuan and Zhang Yanquan lived up to their star billing, putting distance between themselves and their rivals as the difficulty level ramped up, to claim gold with a score of 486.78.
German Sanchez and Ivan Garcia Navarro (468.90) took silver for Mexico with the bronze going to USA pair David Boudia and Nicholas McCrory (463.47).
