Still too early to think about wins - Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton is confident Mercedes has made a step forward this weekend in Malaysia but says it is still too early to start thinking about winning a race.
Hamilton finished Friday practice ninth fastest and a second off the pace but said he "wasn't really able to exploit the car over a single lap". Nevertheless, he is confident Mercedes has taken another step forward from the pace it showed in Australia.
"I think we have made an improvement in the car this weekend and with the long-run pace, but the others look pretty quick as well so it's difficult to really judge where we are," he said. "The Lotus looks quick, particularly over one lap and it's not until I really analyse the laps and see who did long runs to tell whether ours was good or not. But it felt pretty good, particularly compared to the last race."
Asked if he thought a win was possible this weekend, Hamilton said: "It feels like it's potentially is a little bit too early. We definitely didn't come here thinking it was going to be easy for us, we knew it was going to be tough. We definitely never predicted we would be as high as we are really, so we just want to keep on improving and take our time."
