Jenson Button says he and Sergio Perez had a chat to "clear the air" following their on-track battles during the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The two McLaren drivers touched on more than one occasion during a close fight, with Perez ultimately coming out on top as he finished in sixth place, while Button laboured to tenth after a late fourth pit stop. Following a war of words as the pair failed to see eye-to-eye post-race, Button tweeted on Monday night: "Important chat yesterday with Checo Perez to clear the air. As a team we will move forward and live to fight another day ... roll on Barcelona".
Immediately after the race, Button had labelled Perez's driving as "dirty" and added of the collisions: "That's something you do in karting and normally you grow out of it but that's obviously not the case with Checo."
With Perez himself saying he was "too aggressive" but accusing Button of being just as bad, McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh said he would get the two drivers to sit down and talk. Button then took to Twitter late on Monday to confirm the pair had spoken and that the issue was now behind them.
