Racing director Eric Boullier insists McLaren's deliberations over its driver line-up for 2015 are not due to any problems but purely the team's desire to make the right decision for its long-term future.

McLaren has yet to announce either of its drivers for next season, but Fernando Alonso's arrival at the team has become an open secret in recent months. The identity of his team-mate is not known, however, with 2014 drivers Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen waiting on news of their F1 futures.

"There is no problem, it is just taking the time to consider what is good for McLaren," Boullier told Sky Sports F1. "Unfortunately I cannot give you any tips as I do not know. No decision has been taken yet.

"I know there are a lot of fans, Jenson's fans, Kevin's fans, other drivers' fans and hopefully some McLaren fans, but it is just about taking the right decision for the future, not only for next year but also for the next years."

Boullier said there were strong arguments for both drivers, but ultimately the future of the team will come first.

"Our responsibility is to make McLaren win again and I would be happy because both drivers are terrific drivers. Jenson is obviously a world champion and we would love to carry on with both of them, but we have to decide what is the best position for the team."
