McLaren will unveil its 2013 car - the MP4-28 - on January 31 in the UK.

The launch date means the MP4-28 will be shown to the media and public ahead of its first official test in Jerez starting on February 5. McLaren has yet to announce an exact location for the unveiling apart from that it will be in the UK.

The hopes of Jenson Button and new arrival Sergio Perez rest on the car as McLaren hopes to improve on its third place finish in the constructors' championship this year. 2012's MP4-27 was one of the fastest cars on the grid at times this season, but mechanical issues and operational mistakes let the team down.

McLaren is the second team to pick a launch date after Force India announced it would wheel out its 2013 challenger on February 1 at Silverstone.
