Sergio Perez says he has no doubts that McLaren can overhaul Red Bull and win both championships this season.

While McLaren started last season with the fastest car, Red Bull's impressive development throughout the year saw it take both the drivers' and constructors' championships. However, having moved from Sauber, Perez said that McLaren has the capability to turn around the deficit over the winter.

"I think this team is capable of moving ahead," Perez said. "We've seen in previous years when in testing they are so far away and then they come in to the first race and they qualify on the front row. So I think this is a team that really can deliver from day to night something very special. And I think that this team is so special and so much motivated to win that I'm not worried at all."

With McLaren having an extremely competitive car in 2012 but having its championship challenge undermined by reliability issues, Perez says he doesn't fear a repeat this season.

"When you see the people so enthusiastic and so motivated it's not something that really worries me. I think we have got a strong base, a strong team and the people are very motivated to go for it so I am very happy in that respect.

"I've seen a bit of the car, I'll get to see a little bit more of it - obviously I've done the seat fit as well - and obviously it will look very nice because the colours are always great on the McLaren! But in terms of pace we'll have to wait until Melbourne and see where we qualify."
