Rosberg 'learnt various things' from team orders
Nico Rosberg insists he does not want to dwell on the Mercedes team orders controversy from the Hungarian Grand Prix but admits he learnt valuable lessons from the whole episode.
Hamilton's refusal to slow down for Rosberg at mid-distance - at the request of his team due to differing strategies - dominated much of the media's post-race focus. Though it arguably cost him victory Rosberg wants to draw a line under the moment this weekend in Belgium, as he says Mercedes discussed the incident in detail with both its drivers.
"I gather that there was a mess after Hungary so I don't want to give too many details," Rosberg said. "We discussed it after the race because it's important after a situation like that to know how to move forward. But I've learned various things from that race which I will try and adapt to for the future.
"I don't really want to go into more detail than that. We sat down, discussed it all, and that's important after such an occasion. We had a review if we need to change something for the future and that's what we've done."
Clarifying his point, Rosberg said: "Let me make that more precise. I gathered that there was a bit of a mess in the media so it wouldn't be useful for me to have given anything extra to that, it was easier for it all to calm down - that's what I meant."
Though he did not feel ready for the summer break after the race in Budapest Rosberg admits he feels better for the two weeks off it brought him.
"Really, after Hungary I wanted the next race to be the next day and continue like that. But actually I found it quite good that there's the two weeks where everything is shut down otherwise even on a day off, there's even e-mails from a team and stuff like that. On those two weeks there is nothing like that happening and that's a good thing."
