'I see it as a racing incident' - Rosberg
Nico Rosberg maintains his collision with Lewis Hamilton at the Belgian Grand Prix was a racing incident, despite Hamilton revealing to the press that his team-mate said he caused the clash on purposecaused the clash on purpose in a post-race debrief.
Rosberg was battling Hamilton for the lead on the second lap of the race when the pair made contact, puncturing Hamilton's left rear tyre. The incident led to Hamilton's retirement and sparked controversy in the team, leading to the post-race meeting.
"As drivers, we are here to entertain and to show the fans a good time, so our duels are always on the limit," he said. "I regret that Lewis and myself touched, but I see it as a racing incident - just as the stewards did. I was quicker down the straight and went to the outside as the inside line was blocked.
"I gave it a go and, after we touched, I realised that my front wing was damaged and thought that was it. In the next second I saw that Lewis also had a problem, which was very unfortunate for him and for the team."
Asked about the post-race meeting, he added: "We had a discussion, as is important after such circumstances, because obviously what happened cost the team a lot of points. That is the main focus and the biggest issue with such a happening as today.
"So, yes, we have of course discussed. Unfortunately, I'm not going to go into any details, that wouldn't be the right thing to do. We need to review and discuss how we move forward."
