NFL player plays on with severed finger
An NFL player discovered he had lost the tip of his left middle finger during a game when the severed digit stayed in his glove - and returned to action.
Arizona Cardinals' Rashad Johnson is recovering from surgery to reattach the finger, which was detached as he tackled New Orleans Saints' Darren Sproles on a routine punt return.
Johnson came to the sideline after the play with a finger injury, took off his glove and the tip of his finger remained behind.
Undeterred, Johnson stayed in the game, but to no avail. The Saints ran out 31-7 winners in Louisiana.
Johnson's finger was finger was later shaved down to the first knuckle, in order to reattached the finger. He is now being monitored for signs of infection around the exposed bone.
