Froch relaxes his hardline stance over Abraham bout

Carl Froch has relaxed his hardline stance over his next bout in the Super Six tournament against Arthur Abraham by insisting that he is prepared to fight in Canada.

Froch initially threatened to quit the competition - which will determine a unified champion in the super-middleweight division - if the fight against Abraham did not take place in his native Nottingham.

The 32-year-old has now declared that he is willing to compromise, but he remains adamant that he will not travel to Abraham's backyard of Germany for the clash.

Froch's reluctance for a dust-up away from home stems from his belief that he was robbed in his last bout against Mikkel Kessler in Denmark, after which he complained that he was treated unfairly by a hometown decision.

He knows that defeat to Abraham would almost certainly result in his elimination from the Super Six, but he has offered an olive branch by suggesting a clash in Canada. "I'm more than happy to go to Canada because all I want is a fair crack," Froch said.

"I won't fight anywhere in Europe unless it's Britain. They're looking at a neutral venue. It's my turn to fight at home and I'm not fighting Abraham in Germany. London or Manchester would be classed as a neutral venue because I'm from Nottingham - and of course I'm happy to fight there."
